“I do” options

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SAY “I DO” TO?

Wedding trends come and go (trust us, we’ve seen plenty), but the “I do” moment never misses.

In New Zealand, your wedding ceremony must include an explicit declaration of intent from you and your partner. This can be in a question and answer format or shared as a statement. There is no strict script, as long as it’s clear you’re choosing to marry each other. Which means, you have plenty of freedom to create an “I do” moment that feels right for you. The wording, the tone and the vibe is yours to shape in a way that reflects the marriage you’re stepping into.

Pretty cool right… But, where do we start?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you. The “I do” options below are designed as inspiration for this most pivotal moment in your ceremony. You might find one that’s perfect as is, mix-and-match a few together, or go rogue in a completely different direction. And when you have something that clicks, share it with your celebrant so that they can work it seemlessly into your ceremony.
