Kia ora all couples!! I’m Jason… Your potential Queenstown wedding celebrant and MC. In 2004 I moved from my roots in America to Aotearoa, New Zealand, and have called the lakes and mountains of Tāhuna, Queenstown, home ever since.
My professional career has been driven by a passion for hospitality and a desire to create meaningful experiences for others. After many years in the catering and planning side of weddings, becoming a celebrant was a chance to explore the more emotive aspects of such a special day. Of course with my background in the industry and lots of local contacts I can offer real and practical advise all along your wedding planning journey. But as your celebrant I’d love to learn about you and your story and create a ceremony that’s uniquely yours. And as your MC, I’ll be the go-to guy for you and all your guests… Directing the day with just the right amount of boss energy to keep things moving, and hosting with a friendly smile to make sure everyone has the best time.
Some of my favourite wedding ceremony experiences include a winter elopement on the Remarkables mountain range via private helicopter, a small and intimate ceremony on the veranda of historic cottage, and an impressively large wedding at Royalburn Station. I’ve been so busy helping awesome couples like you married, that I’ve yet to marry my partner of 16 years! We first met when I was casually dating his flatmate (oops!) and when I saw him mowing the lawns I knew I was in real trouble… It was pretty much love at first sight. That’s my little love story, I can’t wait to meet you and hear yours!
Craziest wedding story: “when a bridesmaid attempted to jump into her boyfriend’s arms on the dance floor… But she missed and landed on the wedding cake!”
